HUNTING IN PAKISTAN

Sind

The name Sind comes from the Indo Aryans whose legends claimed that the Indus River flowed from the mouth of a lion.Sind was the first place where Islam spread in South Asia, as a result it is often referred to as "Bab-Al-Islam (gate of Islam).It is located on the western corner of South Asia bordering the Iranian plateau in the west with an area of 140915 sq km.Sind has a sub tropical region with hot summers and cold winters.The area receives at an average 6-7 inches per year of rain fall.Sind is also home to nearly all of Pakistani Hindus and smaller groups of Christians, Parsis, Ahmedis and a tiny Jewish community.
The first know village settlements data as far back as 7000 BC. Permanent settlement at Mehrgarh to the west expanded into Sind.The Aryans invaded from the Iranian plateau abd settled in the Indus vally around 4000 BC.This Aryans culture blossomed over the centuries and gave rise to the Indus valley civilization around 3000 BC. The Indus valley civilization rivaled the contemporary civilization of ancient Egypt and Mesopotamia in both size and scope numbering nearly half a million inhabitants at its height with well planed grid cities and sewer systems, subsequently conquered by Greek led by Alexander the great, the region came under loose greek control for a few decades.The hunting season begins in December and last until April. Sind Ibex and Blandford Urial can be hunted in this region.


Balochistan
The province of Baluchistan is the largest in the country by geographical area.It contains most of the historical Baluchistan and is named after the Baluch. The Principle languages in the region are Baluchi,Pashto,Brahui and Persian.The capital city is Quetta.It us also a major supplier of natural gas to the country.
Baluchistan was the site of eariest know farming settlements upon the Iranian plateau bordering South Asia.The earliest of which was Mehrgarh dated at 6500 BC.Baluchistan corresponds to the ancient Achaemenid province of Gedrosia. Baluchistan was sparsely populated with various tribes possibly od Dravidian and Indo-Iranian origin.For centuries follow the decline of the nearby Harappa and Mohenjodero civilization to the east.Over time baluchistan was invited by various eurasian groups including the Aryans, Persians, Greeks, Kushans, White Huns, Arabs, Turks, Mongols, Mughals, Afghans and British.Muslim Arab invaders annexed the region during the Abbasid period and conversion to Islam.In 15th century Mir Chaker Khan rind became first king of Baluchistan.Baluchistan was subsequently dominated by empires based in Iran and Afghanistan as well as the Mughal empire based in India.In 1893 Sir Mortimer Durand negotiated an agreement with Amir Abdur Rehman of Afghanistan to fix the Durand line running from Chitral to baluchistan as the boundary between Afghans and British.
Very cold winter and hot summer characterize the climate of the upper highlands.Winters of the lower highlands very from the extremely cold in the northern districts to mild condition closer to Makran coast.
The hunting season begins in November and end in April.The Suliman Markhor and Afghan Urial can be hunted hear.
